FIJIAN CULTURE - Experiencing the Fijian Dance “Meke” is a memorable cultural experience that should not be missed. Watch the children dance their traditional spear-waving war dance with gentle movements, taking second place to the harmony of their voices. Meke can be enjoyed in the village or at Emaho Sekawa Retreat.

While exploring Fiji and meeting Fijians, you will be frequently invited to participate in one of the most common ceremonial and social customs in Fiji, the Kava “Yangona” Ceremony. Yangona (yon-gon-na) is a slightly narcotic drink that has a calming effect.

At Emaho Sekawa we offer the Yangona Ceremony accompanied by local Fijian musicians. An evening that should not be missed.
