Fiji's climate is tropical. Between May to October, Fiji experiences the dry season with temperatures hovering around comfortable 25?Celsius/77?Fahrenheit. At this time of the year the southerly trade winds bring cool breezes off the sea and cool nights. During this time we advise you to bring a light sweater and long pants, just in case. November to April is the Fijian summer when temperatures rise up to 32?Celsius/90?Fahrenheit with great increase in humidity. Rainfall during these months is substantially higher, although most of it falls in sudden torrential tropical downpours usually in the mid-afternoon. Mornings and afternoons remain sunny and the sea is often beautifully calm. During the Fijian summer season the vegetation is lush with abundance of tropical flowers and orchids.
Fiji's population is known as the "friendliest of the world". Fijians are proud of their culture and enjoy sharing it. When meeting Fijians you will be greeted with hospitality, warmth and friendliness.
