Fiji's climate is tropical. Between May to October, Fiji experiences the dry season with temperatures hovering around comfortable 25 degrees Celsius/77 Fahrenheit. At this time of the year the southerly trade winds bring cool breezes off the sea and cool nights. During this time we advise you to bring a light sweater and long pants, just in case. November to April is the Fijian summer when temperatures rise up to 32 degrees Celsius/90 Fahrenheit with great increase in humidity. Rainfall during these months is substantially higher, although most of it falls in sudden torrential tropical downpours usually in the mid-afternoon. Mornings and afternoons remain sunny and the sea is often beautifully calm. During the Fijian summer season the vegetation is lush with abundance of tropical flowers and orchids.
